Well, here we are. At the tail end of another crazy but still kind of awesome year. We had a few moments of frustration and unexpected events pop up but overall, not a bad year. And really, nothing compares to the dumpster fire that 2020 became for everyone. #notevenclose
This week, we spent Thanksgiving with some wonderful friends and the day after, I was feeling festive enough to start decorating for Christmas a little bit earlier than usual. While going through the attic to get what I needed to at least just put the tree up, I got to thinking... maybe I ought to share my Christmas Decoration Inventory Worksheet with y'all because they really do make the process so much easier. So read on, and you will find the link to the Google pdf to download and print your very own pages.
I started using this system a few years ago when we moved to our home in the country and I went a little bit nuts with the decorating. Not gonna lie, I used to just put up a tree and a garland on our front door and call it a day. But now, I'm up to about 10 bins of decorations in the attic that we put out every year. And by "we", I mean me. Officer husband's schedule is so crazy it rarely allows him time to live a normal life, let alone help me with the decorations. It seems each year, we do a little more and so I have this handy worksheet that I fill out any time we add more decorations or donate unwanted ones to goodwill. I keep one blank master copy printed out so that I can just copy new ones as needed, it lives in my home management binder with all of my other important lists like housekeeping chores, projects we're working on, etc.
I have each bin in the attic numbered, and then I list the contents on the worksheets for each box and mark the location so that, in case I need to get to something specific, I can just check my handy list, locate the box that any particular item is in and go straight to it. Man, does it save a ton of time! I couldn't even imagine how frustrating it would be to try to find something and have to dig through 10 plastic storage totes to find it. I'd probably cry. Just a little. 😅
So, if you're anything like me when it comes to being a hoarder of Christmas Decor, go on and get yourself that printable Inventory Worksheet and get yourself on track to start off 2022 a little bit more organized! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Safe & Happy New Year!
XOXO,
Katie
